Distributions
How the periodic distribution is calculated, paid, and kept from being paid twice.
What a distribution is
A sukuk does not pay interest. The series has an expected profit rate, set by its structure, and pays an expected periodic distribution out of what the underlying assets earn. It is an expectation, not a guarantee.
The amount
For the demo series: $10 a unit, 5.20% a year, paid twice a year. One unit receives $0.26 per period, and 20 units receive $5.20. The math is done in whole base units of the payment token and rounded down, so the treasury can never pay more than the total owed.
How it is paid
The operator names the period, for example 2026-H2. The API reads the holders from the
indexer and pays them from the issuer's treasury in batches of eight payments per transaction.
Each batch carries a memo naming the series, the period and the batch number:
tsamara:distribution:GSD31:2026-H2:0Before sending a batch, the API looks for its memo on the treasury's history and skips the batch if it is there. Paying the same period again therefore pays nobody twice, and a run that failed halfway can simply be repeated.
If holdings change between a failed run and its retry, the batch boundaries can move. A series larger than one batch still needs a record-date snapshot, which is not built.
